The best zombie series I have ever read. Too bad it will never be finished... or will it?
I read this series not realizing the man that wrote it was already dead. Now I wish there were real zombies so he could rise again and finish the third book of the series.
I give this series a 10 out of 10 for being a perfect zombie story. It's like taking the best parts of every zombie movie and then creating an epic world where a plague has completely destoryed mankind.
The story actually has two story archs. One is about a general of the army and his men trying to hold the virus in check within the African contient. It brakes out and the general is forced to retreat into the ocean and make a run to America to meet up with a colonel and doctor of viral entomology.
The second story arch which takes place at the same time as the generals but is focused on the doctor and her jounery to nebraska to meet up with the general and his men to work on a vaccine to the morningstar virus.
The final book in the series may never get released because of the death of the author at the age of 26 on december 10th of 2009. A ghost writer is currently working with the publisher of the series to complete the manuscript of the third book based on Z's notes and incomplete manuscript.
Z.A.Recht's cause of death is being kept secret but I have found evidence that he may have had a problem with Xanax which could have caused his death. Nothing is known for certain and his family does not wish to discuss his death.
Synopsis

Arrest - Bldg Entered On Friday, Aug 8 at 3:31 AM the Police Department received a business alarm at the Briarwood Professional Building at 1004 Sushruta Drive Martinsburg. Responding officers found an unsecure door on the front of the office complex. A search of the building resulted in a suspect being located within an office. The suspect entered through the front door and proceeded through the building via an area above the ceiling. The suspect at one point fell through the ceiling before being apprehended by the officers. The suspect admitted he had entered the building for the putpose of obtaining Xanax, a prescription drug.
The suspect Zachary Allan Recht, 25 of Crist Lane Inwood WV was taken to the Eastern Regional Jail to await arraignment by a Berkeley County Magistrate on a felony charge of Entering withoiut Breaking.
